How do i get files off of an old dishnetwork dvr hard drive?

ok i have the hard drive out of my old dvr and i have some things on there from my local tv channels i want to get off of the hard drive so what software do i need to download and where do i get it|||you cant, they are proprietary files that are unrecognizable to you pc
