How do i program a new universal remote for my dishnetwork DVR? ?

This tv is in my bedroom and is the number 2 tv the main reciever is in the basement. The remote will work the tv just not sure how to make it work the dish. Please help.|||Unless it's a uhf remote it will not work. It will have to pass through the walls and the floor to get to the receiver. If it is uhf call Dish and get the codes for your receiver. It would be easier to call Dish and get the right uhf remote which you can set up for your TV.
