What brands of external hard drive work with a dishnetwork DVR. The Dish website give only guidelines.?

Dish doen't sell them you have to buy your own so its sounds like CYA. They say it has to be externaly powered by its own supply and max is 1 TB|||Any brand wil do yet consider Seagate or Western Digitail they both have a good Hard Drive that is installed with the middle of the range Hard Drives WD is called Green the units run longer and cooler than the lower end Hard Drive. The next is that it states that it runs quiet as some have the heads running constantly and some get an external unit and the noise is loud enough to hear.

Choose any company that you like but consider a quiet one and cool running unit as it does matter as there are some made just for a DVR.
