Can I use a Dishnetwork Dish for a DirecTV receiver?

The signals coming from a DirecTV satellite can only be decoded by another DirecTV equipment and there's no way that it can be read by a Dish Network dish. Same goes the other way around.|||No, it's not possible. The dishes are programmed to pull specific information from the satellites, and even though the companies share two of them you wouldn't even be able to get that information.|||If you are pulling only the primary signals, then yes you can. I used to work for DirecTV in there customer call center and have talked to multiple customers who were able to do it. The important part is the receiver. Just don't try to go for HD.
