Is there any way to connect a Tivo HD to my Dishnetwork HD reciever?

First, if you do not already have the Tivo HD do not get it. Get a Dishnetwork HD DVR instead. It is much easier to install. And it allows you to record more than the channel you are watching that is more than one channel at a time.

Second, if you have not opened the Tivo HD do not open its box and think about returning it for the reason in # 1 above and also for the fact that it will cost you less to get the box from Dish because you won't be paying for the box if you sign a contract and the rent in total might be less than the two separate monthly bills, Dish and Tivo.

Finally if you do want to connect the HD Tivo look at what connections you have available as inputs on it and outputs on the Dish HD box.

You should have component outputs (red, green and blue) on the Dish HD receiver as well as audio outputs (white and red). Match these up to the component and audio inputs on the HD Tivo. Set the HD Tivo to record from these inputs as you would if using it with a cable box. You can only record what you tune on the Dish HD receiver that is you cannot watch one channel and record another unless your Dish HD receiver has separate outputs for its dual tuners assuming it has dual tuners in the first place.|||There is not. Tivo HD (and Series 3) do not have any inputs which would allow you to connect your Dish receiver. Their only inputs are over the air coax, cable coax, and digital CableCard.
