Can I get the movies off my DishNetwork DVR to work on my computer or burn to disc?

I have a bunch of kids movies that I would like to transfer to disc or atleast on the computer so that we can take them on the road or play in their rooms. Any way to do this? Dish customer service suggested the xternal hard drive but that does not make them portable.|||Your only access is through the A/V playing out of the analog A/V connections on the box. You can record that to a DVD recorder, or to a video capture device on your computer.
