When signing up for dishnetwork or directv what kinds of questions should be asked before committing?

What personal experiences, good and bad, has anyone had with either of these two companies?|||I think the most important question is how long your contract is and how long their promotional offer is. Whatever they offer you the price will go up after six or 12 months. Also your stuck with that system. If you move with DTV you get a movers connection where they will move your dish for free but make you sign another year contract to do that.

Then I think you need to know what channells you can't live without and make sure they have them. They have different options on different packages. If your not a big T.V watcher Dish network is usually cheaper and has a base package that is and more affordable.

Here are a few other things to think about when calling them-

How many T.V's you have----sometimes they charge extra for each box you put in your house. If you have a lot of T.V's your better off going with dish.

Is your T.V High Definition? HD is better on DTV from what I can tell.

Do you have internet with your cable company now? People always cancel their cable find out later its way more expensive to have internet when your not getting cable bundled in.

Do you have a view of the southern sky that is unobstructed? You have to have this in order to get DTV or DISH.

Sorry this is written so jumbled I hope it helps a little.
